Easter, Catch up, Food Porn!

I feel like I haven't done a "lifestyle" blog in aggggges, but to be honest I haven't had the time, or more truthfully the energy. To get you up to speed the husband has been working in Trinidad since January and I have only seen him for just over a week this whole year, in which time his lovely Granddad very sadly died. We are currently on the end of an 8 week stretch now and to make matters worse we have all had chest infections including a huge allergic reaction for Archie....obviously I'm not busy enough as mine decided to turn into pneumonia. So 2014 has not been doing it for me much so far.

This current work situation was not supposed to be like this and I wont lie it has been so hard with the boys on my own. The husband has worked off shore before and I always thought it was bad with just one but in reality going from one child to two is like going from owning a dog to running a zoo #fact. Weekends are the killer as most my pals are spending time with their family's, my friend is a fellow offshore wife calls them "Suicidal Sundays" he he. So I didn't have much hope for Easter not to mention I completely forgot that the boys wouldn't be going into nursery on Friday or Monday....once I threw up in my mouth I hatched a plan and sent out some SOS's and to be fair my family and friends all more than cut the mustard and we have really had a fab Easter.

Despite missing Daddy and the fact that the boys don't go to school so this is just another weekend for us, it was hard not to get caught up in the happy atmosphere of everyone on holiday not to mention all the sun. Starting with a date day with Archie after he got a full chart...for poo's! I wish I was joking but its been an issue since he was in nappy's so as a treat off to the Lego shop we went...and Krispy Kreme!

Good Friday, we went for a walk to the skate park, I had totally forgot that the Links Fayre was on....it was like 'My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding'...on holiday. Luckily the boys were happy with a balloon and we moved on quickly.

Archie got his first skooter injury cutting it with the teenagers but Pancakes cheered him up and a bit of Easter decorating.

 Sugarloaf.

I got lucky with my second Grandparents sleepover since the husband has been away, I couldn't let a chance like this be wasted on watching Greys Anatomy so called the bestie and we went out for Tapas. My lush GG got me a bag earlier in the week as a "sorry you got pneumonia present" which I adore and had to give it a test run. We haven't had a girlie night in ages and it.was.lush.

On Saturday we had a few of our friends over for an Egg hunt and an Egg and Spoon race, so me and Archie did some baking in prep which we love doing...naturally for all the spoon licking after. We all met when we were pregnant and now the older boys are 4 and superhero mad! It was so much funny and boiling hot!

Getting creative with the egg hunt!

Archie was the winner...doesn't know how to keep his eyes open though.

Some Food Porn for Tea.

I have never seen the kids more dirty or tired, so after bath and bed it was nice to have some Mammy time.

Easter Sunday, the boys were in an excellent mood after the bunny had visited, we went to their cousins to meet their two new REAL gorgeous white fluffy Bunny's and after a sausage sandwiches off the BBQ we had another egg hunt, I cant believe it but I forgot my phone so haven't got many pictures but it was so nice.

Easter Monday, We were up with the larks so decided to blow out the Easter Eggs along the seafront. I had planned on only going for a walk but after Archie challenged a man on a mobility skooter to...a race he then asked "Which cafe are we going to?...I've only had one breakfast!" so we kept going into Tynemouth and had a lovely treat at 'Dil and the Bear'...my parenting at the moment is as loose as a goose but you do what you need to!

We then went to my Grandparent for the afternoon, they live on the beach...need I say more?! I decided to make a pudding and get rid of some of the many MANY Easter eggs. I've seen this all over instragram (ashlie5515) so had to make it.

My Granddad is the very best in the world, apart from building the boys their very own Pirate Ship....which every child to pass has a go of ha ha he also did them a treasure hunt on the beach where he had buried eggs, the boys loved it!

Amazing Lamb Sunday dinner you wont find better, then epic brownies, if I do say so myself.

After all this excess we are all in desperate need of a detox/diet, it however will not be as easy as I thought when I have gathered all the boys Easter eggs ....can you believe it and we have eaten quite a few and used 3 big eggs in the brownies. So not quite sure how that will work with all these looking at me....

Anyway I'm going to try as the husband is home *whispers* in a week hopefully and I intend on being seriously wined and dined after nearly 3mths of neglect so I better cut back for at least a week.

Happy Easter everyone and if your feeling fat like me and a bit depressed at being back at work at least it is spring for real, seriously people have been wearing sandals.
