Its rare that me and the husband get a date night but when we were invited last week to Northern Goldsmiths shopping evening and I'm not going to lie....we hadn't even bought one present by then it seemed like the perfect opportunity to pull in a babysitting favour with my brother aka Uncle Pip!
I love this shop, it so glam especially after its huge refurbishment earlier in the year but its history is what makes it so special. I blogged about the 'Kissing Clock' in June Here I loved the story so much. Tonight was purely about browsing gorgeous jewellery and getting a few pressie's though hopefully.
After the usual fantastic welcome from all members of staff, a glass of Champers and some canapés the husband beelined it to the Rolex section which has been the first place you could buy one in the UK since 1919. I have my eternity ring now as you will see from the above blog but it is my dream to one day save enough to come and buy the hubby one of these incredible time pieces, If I could, there would certainly be one under the tree now.
Just to give the hubby a heart attack I went over the "K-Mid Section" as I call it and the diamond rings part of the store which has been seeing quite a lot of foot fall with others buying engagement rings, to pop the big question over Christmas, it sad but it makes me so excited for them. I immediately tried on a stunning 3 carat diamond solitaire for a cool £28k... I can only imagine the lucky girls face getting this....
The main thing I love about this shop is that there is a real mix of jewellery, everything is stunning but something to fit all budget's. We bought a lovely pair of silver studs....well I cant tell you who for, its meant to be a surprise ha ha, the service was fab though and they were wrapped beautifully; if you're buying a Rolex or a small pair of earrings your'e still a VIP.
The husband also snuck off and I think he may have bought me a little something from the boys...which they will LOVE. Its so sweet but they already adore getting my little girlie bits and treating me like a Princess as I'm not allowed in their "Boy Club"...Dad is. Long may it last I say.
I was a bit pooped after all the excitement and shopping so we headed off for a bite and I was in bed with a cuppa by 9.30pm so a perfect little evening out. There are only a few days left until Santa is on his way so if you're stuck get along they have some lovely bits that will put a smile on anyone's face this Christmas....
Christmas opening hours.
