Aladdin at Whitley Bay Playhouse

I love a pantomime... lets be honest who doesn't!? They are just so much fun and Aladdin by Blue Genie at the Whitley Bay Playhouse did not disappoint. Any Boyzone fans will be beating down the door anyway to see Shane Lynch, who plays a fantastic part as Abanazar but I can truly say if you are picking just one Christmas show to see it has to be this.

We absolutely loved every second, I don't want to spoil it by telling you all my favourite parts or hilarious one liners but I can say it had a little bit of everything including a 'mannequin challenge' and if my boys sat still the whole time that will show you how good it is.

In the know.
As I said I won't spoil it so wiIll just tell you the info you need wether you have tickets already or are booking them quick!

The show is running from 5th December 2016 - 2nd January 2017

The Whitley Bay Playhouse situated on the iconic seafront has had an extensive make over since the days I used to go and watch the Gang show and it is really special. Most importantly the bar is well stocked if like me you fancy a cheeky tipple, well it is Christmas. There is also a cinema style variety of yummy snacks like nachos, hotdogs, pop corn and ice creams too. As well as a selection of glow stick light sabre, fairy wand things and programmes in the lobby.

There are various times but we went on a Saturday to the 4pm showing which suited us perfectly, it was nice because we arrived early and had a little walk along the seafront first for a bit of pre show fresh air.

Prices start from £23 and there are discounts for family or group bookings.

As I said Shane Lynch was brilliant as the loveable rogue Abanzar ...oh no he wasn't...sorry I couldn't resist. The whole cast was fantastic though, I also really loved the Genie, they had us all laughing non stop and dancing along. I loved the little Geordie twists too.

There is a huge car park and free street parking adjacent to the theatre. We had no problem parking put it that way. Monkseaton Metro is about a 10min walk up the road away too.

There is no photography or filming in the the theatre performance but there are opportunitys to meet the cast after and if you are really lucky get a cheeky selfie! Everyone is so friendly...I had to dash off and missed Shane Lynch!

Get there a little early, have a drink and soak in the merry atmosphere. There was a youth group at the showing we attended, all wearing Christmas jumpers and their excitement was infectious.

3 VERY happy boys!

A lovely family day out!
