Dr Marten Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles

When we were invited to review the new Dr Martens Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collection I couldn't have been more excited to tell the boys, they are HUGE Ninja Turtle fans and we just saw the film last week so they were extra excited.

We went to our local store on Grainger Street in Newcastle and the whole collection were in the window, I hadn't been sure what to expect but they truly are amazing. There are four different styles, naturally one for each of the turtles but with different features including glow in the dark pattern...the boys were literally drooling on the window.

We were welcomed into the store by Rosie the manager and told all about each boot and their names. Archie instantly went for 'Raph' which are red and have cool eyes in a mask on the laces. Oscar went for Leo which I was surprised at because he usually copy's his brother but he said he likes "COWABUNGA".

While Rosie went to get the boys sizes we had a look around the store and I realised what an institution Dr Martens is. So much more than shoes, with clothes, gorgeous bags and merchandise. I have been a huge fan of Dr Martens ever since I was 8 and begged my Mam for a cherry red patent leather pair of school shoes...I was denied much to my disgust and got them in black but I was happy to see they still make them. Even better for any tall girls like myself they go up to UK9 size which is worth noting as is a 10% student discount.

Rosie returned with the shoes in a few sizes and measured the boys feet properly. She then helped the boys to put them on and showed us how to lace them, there is a special way. Instantly the boys turned into preening ninjas, taking it in turns doing karate moves and posing in the mirror; they were completely in love. It is such a professional service and feels like a real treat stet to finish.

The boys begged to wear them home so Rosie packed their normal shoes in their recyclable bag along with a Ninja Turtle USB stick and they couldn't have been more excited. On the way to the car they were actually stopping people to show them off. The boys have only ever owned softer trainer type shoes so I was keen that they were still comfy but they have confirmed they are "Very comfy and cool"

The next day they begged to wear them to school, I couldn't denie them they were so excited and what better way to put the shoes to the test...although they were under strict instructions to avoid playdough and paint!

They survived a full day at school, in fact its been over a week and there is not a mark on them and the boys haven't had them off. The quality is outstanding and I will definitely be investing in future school shoes at Dr Martens they have been the envy or all their friend too with these beauts...even Dad wants a pair.

The Boots come in Adults and Kids sizes for full information and pricing see this cool video.

  1. Aw the boys like so chuffed! I love the Dr Martins shop in Newcastle and often pop in to drool over the gorgeous bags. Would love to treat my niece and nephew to the turtle boots but they are only 4 and I figured they'll grow out of them too quickly to justify the price. It would make me the coolest aunt on the planet though!

  5. I'm a 33 yr old father and I for the Raph's. I've never had so much fun wearing any kind of shoes. Whenever is them, I can't help but to laugh.

I'm going to work, wearing them. Even though I'm a supervisor of 17 staff, I'll proudly wear them.

I have 5 pairs of Dr Marten's, but I refuse to wear any of them until I get sick and tied wearing the Raph's. Idk when that'll be though? Lol!
